Islamic Giving · Zakaah eligibility
Eligibility is assessed—not assumed.
A cancer diagnosis may create severe hardship, but Zakaah can only be allocated when the beneficiary and proposed use meet the applicable framework.
How CFC assesses a proposed Zakaah allocation
Patient circumstances
CFC reviews the person’s financial position and whether they may fall within an applicable category of Zakaah recipient.
Supporting information
Identification, financial information, medical documentation, quotations and available alternatives may be considered.
Proposed use
The requested support is checked before any designated Zakaah is allocated. Not every medical or organisational expense qualifies.
Recorded decision
Approved assistance and its funding designation are documented while patient information remains confidential.
CFC does not treat diagnosis, urgency, referral or financial pressure alone as automatic confirmation of Zakaah eligibility. Assistance also remains subject to documentation, available funding and CFC’s support scope.
